International Success

The founder, Håkon Volden, grew up in Hammerfest, in Norway, where his family established a fish farming business at one of the northernmost points in the world. He later took over the company, leading it to a successful public listing. With a long and distinguished career in aquaculture, Håkon played a key role in building Norway’s largest export industry after oil and gas. His expertise and international experience also led to a government appointment to Norway’s “Forum for Increased Value Creation in Business.”

The eight seasons create a unique climate

The Sámi people divide the year into eight seasons — which is why they are known as the people of the eight seasons. These seasons reflect the annual cycle of the reindeer and its herders. The changing seasons also influence the vegetation.
